The summit
mark.
PALETTE 4 colours · TYPE 3 families
A kora is a circumambulation of a sacred mountain. The mark is exactly that: a peak drawn in one line, and the route drawn around it.
01 · Logo system
One line up.
One line around.
The peak is a single continuous polyline with round joins. The kora is a dashed 24 × 8 ellipse that crosses the peak's legs. The summit point sits where the two ideas meet. Click the mark to watch it draw.
Peak: M5 50 → 21 22 → 29 34 → 41 12 → 59 50, stroke 3, round caps and joins. Kora: ellipse centre (32, 44), radii 24 × 8, stroke 1.6, dash 3.2 / 3.2, Signal. Summit: r 2.2, Ice. Minimum size 20 px; below that the kora drops out and the mark becomes the peak alone. The wordmark is never redrawn: KORA is set in Bebas Neue at 0.12em tracking, EXPEDITIONS in JetBrains Mono beneath it, cap-height aligned to the mark’s summit.
02 · Palette
Night, Glacier,
Ice, Signal.
Night is the ground. Glacier is everything you read. Ice is data: coordinates, altitudes, instruments. Signal is the single accent — CTAs and route lines, never decoration. Click a swatch to copy.
03 · Type
Condensed, quiet,
and monospaced.
Three families, three jobs. Bebas Neue shouts the place names. Manrope says the sentences. JetBrains Mono reads the instruments.

Twelve days. One rope team. No summit fever. We don't climb to conquer — we walk the circle, and the circle is the point.

04 · Motion
Fast in.
Long out.
Everything on the site moves like a rope coming tight: a snap, then a long settle. Scroll scrubs the cinematics; instruments tick in steps; magnets return elastically. Click a card to replay.
kora · cubic-bezier(0.16, 1, 0.3, 1) · 0.9 – 1.2 s
Fast in, long out
The default ease for every entrance, card swap and reveal. Registered as CustomEase "kora"; expo.out does the same job in GSAP.
power3.in 0.5 s → expo.out 0.75 s · stagger 0.3
Shutter & loader
Page covers accelerate in and decelerate out. The altimeter loader steps in three expo.inOut beats of 1.1 s, then lifts with power4.inOut.
steps(12) · scramble 1.4 s · odometer power3.out 1.6 s
Instruments tick
HUD values drift by random jitter every 0.2 – 0.9 s. Numbers roll like an odometer; titles resolve from a scramble of ▯ | / \ _.
elastic.out(1, 0.3) · 1.6 s · magnet strength 40 – 50
Magnetic return
CTAs follow the cursor with power4.out and return with an elastic settle. Stacking cards get a 0.1 s stretch and the same elastic release when they lock.
scrub: true · pin 300 – 400 vh
Scrubbed cinematics
The globe, the icefall sequence and the field gallery are tied directly to scroll. No autoplay, no timers — the reader is the playhead.
prefers-reduced-motion: reduce
Reduced motion
Scrubs collapse to their end state, loops stop, videos show posters, and the loader jumps to 8,163 m. Layout never changes.
05 · Imagery
Blue hour.
Human scale.
Cold light, big ground, small people. Drone aerials for scale, headlamps for intimacy. Nothing is colour-graded warm; nobody looks at the camera.

06 · Applications
Patch, ticket,
tile.
Built in CSS from the same four colours and three typefaces. The patch goes on the pulk harness; the ticket goes in your passport; the tile goes wherever tiles go.
